Christmas Day 1947

Christmas Day Thursday December 25th 1947

It's a beautiful day went over to the folks, and we spent a lot of time opening presents. We got a lot of beautiful things. It was so much fun then we came back and opened more here and saw everyone's gifts I went and woke Inis up and she came over for a while. Then I took her back. Then we went around to all the relatives’ houses. I saw everything and what they got. Bob and Roy and dad worked on the House for a while. Then we rested and I went over to the folks and visited them and date dinner. Bob's Turkey! Was delicious and we rode around a while. I came home. I sure felt lousy all day. Then Bob and I went and had hot chocolate at a place and walked around. It was a beautiful night. Then we went to the show “Down to earth”it was very cute. Then came home. A wonderful Christmas.

Friday December 26th 1947

I cleaned boxes and stuff and took the Christmas tree down. I went to work what a day. I didn't get off until 6:30. I was still out of balance and came home. Transfers day. Bob and I went on a drive and went to a doctor's house for his physical for insurance. He was a nice man, and we talked a long time. Then we had supper at the Toad Inn. It tasted very good. I was really hungry. Came home and went to bed.
